INSTRUCTOR: KRIS DORAN
I came to TCTC after working professionally in the television and professional sports industries. My first job was at WYTV as a Promotion Producer where I made local television commercials and promotions. Other duties including contributing to the companies web site and designing their print advertisements.
A few years later, I became the Assistant Creative Services Director with the now merged WYTV, WKBN, WYFX and MyNetwork TV. This involved many of the same responsibilities while adding in more script writing and management type duties.
On the weekends, I spent my time working for the Cleveland Indians as the Sports Time Ohio Feed Producer writing and producing promotions about attending the Cleveland Indians games.

I completed my graduate work at Kent State University:
Masters of Education in Instructional Technology

I currently hold the same certifications that students enrolled in the TCTC Interactive Multimedia program aspire to earn by graduation:
Adobe Certified Associate: Visual Communication using Adobe Photoshop CS5

I am also a Adobe Certified Train the Trainer.
From 2013-2016 I served as a Curriculum Leader for the Journalism Education Association as the representative for Multimedia Broadcast.
From 2014-2016 I worked as the JEA National Broadcast Write-Off Coordinator which has given me the opportunity to travel and work with students and teachers from across the country in Boston, Washington, D.C., San Diego, Virginia, Denver, Los Angeles, Orlando, Indianapolis and Las Vegas.
I am also on the boards of the Ohio Scholastic Media Association and Ohio Association for Business Professionals of America.
As Part-Time Faculty at Youngstown State University, I have taught Animated Graphic Design for Television & Web and Advanced Audio and Video Production inside the Telecommunications Department.
I previously taught Interactive Multimedia for the Ashtabula County Technical & Career center for 4 years at Grand Valley High School as a Satellite Instructor.
Despite a busy professional life, I always put my family first. My wife Samantha (who is also a local teacher) and I have 3 daughters. Gabriella is 7, Gianna is 5 and Sofia is 1. When I am not at school, it is very likely to find me coaching one of my daughters soccer, basketball or softball teams.
